Just a reminder from my new friend Parker that new photos are being posted at the Smugmug offsite instead of the old vista.howlingpoint.net gallery. I shoot much more than I write.
The shot of the Grizzly is from today at the zoo. The photo of Diego was taken last year. But they both seem to be giving me that same stare. That ‘don’t you have anything better to do with that camera‘ stare. Didn’t really think about it until the shots showed up next to each other as random picks at the photo gallery, but now I’m just kinda freaked out about it.
Morning At The Zoo
A bit of local site-seeing this morning, with breakfast out and some walking at the Zoo, around Balboa Park, and then a stroll through Little Italy while running some errands. These two were the highlight of the morning (except maybe for a certain jogger) and seemed to be having a blast.
We’ve had young pandas here before, but never like this.
Puppies and Kittens
Nice visit to the zoo this morning. Normally the bigger hunters aren’t out and about much during the day, but something must’ve been in the air this morning that got them all up and looking for breakfast tourists. Snif, snif. Mmmmm, scrambled eggs with a side of Iowa farmboy.
Randy still gets amazed at how much the hyenas and wild dogs (and even the New Guinea singing dogs) resemble Pongo. I agree on the resemblances, but just assume that an african mutt is an african mutt and somewhere back in time there have to have been some crossed genes. Still, it’s nice to know that even though he never bred a part of him is still out there, literally chewing up the world.
