A Case Of The Mondays
This was supposed to be the day I got my mojo back. Spent the end of last week focussing on the Business of Law because I was kinda sick of the law itself. Family law does that to me sometimes, and I have way too much of that on my desk at the moment, to the detriment of the transactional work that I truly enjoy. Gotta go where the money is, especially in this economy. But the mojo wasn’t on my desk this morning. It’s on my calendar, in the form of deadlines throughout the week, but it just isn’t here. I looked behind the Afrin, and under the Naproxen, and checked to see if Diego had chewed it up (like so many other things these days), but it just isn’t here. Hopefeully it will turn up after my nap, otherwise this could be an ugly week.
Missing The Weekend
Good weekend including the Cirque du Soleil Corteo show here in San Diego and a great breakfast with an old friend.
Lousy Monday with a lot of rain and a router upgrade that’s fighting back. Even though the symptoms don’t make any sense to me, the common denominator in all our recent internet problems seems to be the wireless router, upgrading the software seems to have made things worse, and replacement looks to be cheaper than having someone come by to confirm the diagnosis.
Getting through Monday
Spent the day working out-of-the-office for the cube people. It was a nice way to spend a Monday. No office drama, no office phones ringing. Focused on one file and moved things forward. Hopefully that’s vague enough for any corporate readers. But the point is how much I enjoy my job on the days when I don’t have to deal with my office. Monday’s can be tolerable, even without caffeine.
