On Modern Vamps
I was a fan of the Anne Rice books until the movies ruined the stories for me. The Lost Boys is certainly one of my big-screen guilty pleasures. I’ve always been a big fan of Buffy, though I never followed Angel when he went to his own series. But I never got into Twilight, either in print or on screen.
We got the movie on Netflix, but I couldn’t get through it without falling asleep. Spinner has the book, trying to read it this summer to prove his affinity for masochism better bond with his 10-year-old charges, but I’ve got no interest.
But my otherwise pathetic Monday was made when Mikerzz posted this video.
Moloch the Corrupter in ’08?
Everyone has a different set of social references. They help put people and issues in context and create a meaning through analogy that’s might not be possible with abstract words standing alone. So, to help understand the republican field, here they are as Buffy villains. In keeping with the analogy, note that several have already fallen by the wayside. [via FireFawkes]
Na Na Na Na Na: Old Made Newish
Been looking forward to the new Bionic Woman, so when Nala mentioned that it was available on OnDemand, the law firm called a mandatory staff meeting for an afternoon screening.

Evil Conspiracy
OK, so I took a long lunch to go swimming today. I deserved it after getting very lucky with some recent litigated stuff, and besides, the weather today is wonderful and my tanlines are in serious need of repair. I even brought work home with me – documents that needed to be reviewed with ringing phones or cube distractions – and telling myself I could work late if needed. The reality is I’ll need to work late because I’ll need to have these docs ready before a meeting with our attorney tomorrow.
So what happens? The forces of evil conspire with the shipping gods of Amazon to deliver both Buffy: Season Five and The Incredibles to my doorstep this afternoon. How am I supposed to get any work done now?
