The morning started off with an uncomfortably early appointment at BorgHealth. It was uncomfortable for me because I’m not used to dealing with rush hour drivers any more, and was sorely missing the days I had access to automatic weapons. It was uncomfortable for them because their network was down, and in the absence of a hive mind, the drones were a bit, um, lost. Regardless, we got through it though.
After we reviewed my biological database of my history in the absence of their much cooler database, we did some looking, and some poking and prodding, and eventually some drugging. The drugging in particular went very well. Then a little something was snipped out of my throat near where my tonsils used to be. They said ‘it’s probably nothing,’ but promised to check it anyways while carefully enclosing their sample in a glass containment jar to prevent it’s escape and eventual bid for global domination.
Now I’m home with a
numb sore throat listening to the wind rattle the windows and watching the sky go from dark clouds to blue skies and back again. I hope that’s not Mother Nature’s foreshadowing. Cool photo High surf advisory at the beach but I’m staying in and milking the sympathy and guilt-free daytime television. Ice cream anyone?
