Holiday Law
Law’s been dampening some otherwise great holiday spirits. Frustrating to watch what should have been a simple petition spin into an expensive mess because someone can’t let go of his ex (and her money, natch). I limit my involvement with personal law, issues like divorces, guardianships and wills & trusts, mostly because it becomes too emotional for some people. It was easy to drop those cases in 2003 when RadDoc and BorgHealth talked to me about limiting stress because it was easy to see what the transferred stress was doing to me. Stress and radiation don’t mix. Then again, radiation doesn’t mix with much of anything but napping. I’m back now because the money’s good and until now I’d done pretty good at selectively picking cases to handle. I guess it’s time to earn the money. At least there’s plenty of Christmas booze around to help with the stress management

Beeeeeeee careful. It is so hard to not take the case, especially when the money is good. Just do not forget to charge a premium for every second the difficult client takes off your life span or every minute he steals of your family time. This is something I am just figuring out after the second divorce due to my workaholic ways. Good luck.
Unfortunately, this is a wonderful client and an asswipe opposing party who’s adopted a scorched earth philosophy.
