Maybe its because I enjoy reading how David kicks Goliath’s ass, or maybe just because various pairs of uggs have been keeping my toes warm most of my adult life, but here’s some interesting trademark law from Australia for the legal geeks in attendance.
There was a similar case a few years ago where McDonalds established some restaurants in Scotland then tried to close down any other business with the name McDonalds or anything similar. They were told that the use of that name was controlled by the laird of the MacDonald clan and not an American corporation.
