Pretrial Jitters
I don’t go to court that often anymore, and when I do go, I spend more time as the client’s rep (the cube job) than as the trial attorney. Even when I practiced full-time I always got a bit bouncy before a hearing or trial. Self-confidence issues play around in the skull and the personalities start second-guessing one another. Right now the relevant filings for tomorrow morning’s hearing are spread out on the carpet between the La-Z-Boys and the TV and Pongo’s done a little exploratory sniffing. I’m halfway hoping he’ll show me which one’s worth pissing on or which one’s going to get me ripped to shreds tomorrow. He was always a good parapuppy.

No pissing. No shredding. Some tentative sniffing, as though something were about to be pissed on, but overall it went well.
Glad it went well. I used to work in law enforcement and got nervous as hell when I had to go before the court.
