Random Thoughts While Working At Home
Working at home this morning. Since I have a meeting downtown at 10, I’m avoiding the hour round-trip commute up to the cube (inconveniently located in a distant ‘burb in the wrong direction) and working some files here. I’ve missed working in my boxers with a coffee pot and fridge within arm’s reach – sometimes those cube people are just unreasonable in their in-office expectations. Besides, I’ve been swimming a lot and look good in the boxers. Or so I’ve been told. Who defined office casual as requiring pants and shoes, anyways? On a slightly related issue, I’m loving how much extra desk space I have at home now that Pongo bought me a flat-screen monitor for my birthday. OK, telepathically commanded me to buy it. I can actually spread out a file, not just prop it up next to the keyboard. Woohoo! With San Diego real estate prices where they are, every square foot counts, and the desk now has an extra three square feet of usable surface. Well worth the price.
