A Good Weekend
This weekend is much less stressful than last. Last weekend (yes, the holiday weekend) I was stuck carrying the on-call pager for the office. While it doesn’t go off very often, the necessity of a quick response really limits what you can be doing when it goes off. As you might assume, it’s mere presence kind of killed the long weekend for me.
This weekend, no pager. No work. Some web stuff. Lots of music through the iPod down at a relatively isolated local beach. The cliff can be rough, but the fact that it keeps the hordes and hordes of poorly dressed tourists away makes the hike worth it. Other beaches may be physically closer, but when you consider the time and energy spent fighting everyone else for parking, I’ll take the cliff hike any day.

I would probably end up being on of those hordes.
