More On Floundering Relationships
In our last episode, tow-truck guy put his hands under the hood and Nissantruck was satisfied. *oh so satisfied* The feelings of rejection dissipated and Nissantruck performed as in the days of old. At least for a few days.
Last night, the feeling was wanted again. While Chuck visited friends, Nissantruck got cold in the outdoors and felt lonely. Companionship was desired and the warm hands of tow-truck guy were remembered [cue fuzzy flashback scene]. Realizing that another bad battery might not be plausible, Nissantruck internalized its frustration and feelings of inadequacy until they manifested themselves as a burned-out starter. Unfortunately for Nissantruck and its various issues, when Chuck realized he wasn’t going to get the service he’d come to expect he simply got a ride home with friends rather then bother tow-truck driver, who hopefully has a better life then to be out servicing old, dusty trucks on a Friday night.
This morning, after a few failed attempts, the motor finally turned over with a bit of a reverse push start. Who would’ve known that the truck preferred it in reverse? Its now getting the full salon-type service at the Nissan day spa and motor fixing center, where tow-truck driver’s friends and cohorts are running their hands all over the engine and Chuck’s wallet. New parts are being greased and inserted, with each insertion followed by a deep, penetrating grab into the green stuff of Chuck’s wallet. Notice there’s been no grease applied to the hand going for Chuck’s wallet. With a bit of luck, all this effort will be enough to make Nissantruck feel good about itself for Easter Sunday and maybe Chuck will get a few more good rides out of this.
