First Christmas cookies of the season are in the oven. Christmas honey mounds, recipe from Mom. The dough’s been chilling since yesterday afternoon and when the sweet tooth started hurting after dinner I decided it was time to starting popping them in the oven. *snif snif* Yep, the aroma’s finally making it’s way out to the living room. rrrrrnnnnggggggg. Yeah, they’re done.

   Remind me to tell you the story of how I attempted to make Christmas cookies when I was a little kid, and almost ended up poisoning three different cloistered convents in the Spanish countryside. This event set my culinary progress back years.
