Wednesday Already
We’re still here. We’ve just been busy. Short run-up of what’s going on at the Point.
Working - Spent the last couple of days doing some pro bono and helping a guy properly document, record, reconcile, get judicial recognition of, and officially end his marriage. Will someone please justify this amount of red tape to end a historically religious-based commitment between two individuals by a government that’s supposed to be barred from entanglement in religion. Yes, this particular rant goes deep. Also noticing that the balance I try and maintain between litigation and non-litigation work is tilting too much (in my view) toward litigation. The non-lit projects are getting wrapped up while the lit projects just keep going forward and swallowing more time. While I enjoy litigation, the realities of litigation practice certainly reduce my control my time and scheduling.
Committing - No big commitments. We don’t do those here. But we are committed to participating in Link and Think 2002. A button will soon go up. It was a good experience last year, so we’ll be back for more. Also, beware the dangers of thinking before you link. Reversing the words in the URL leads you to someone who wants to hijack your homepage (a pop-up request when you exit the page). Kinda ironic since avoiding infection is based almost exclusively on thinking prior to “linking.”
Reading - The brand spanking new Murdering Mouth. He’s not blogging any more, so the link on this page will be moving to the links page with the next round of template tweaking, but the site is still a great read and the redesign looks great.
