A talking point attached to the last of 24 briefing slides went even further, describing Saudi Arabia as “the kernel of evil, the prime mover, the most dangerous opponent” in the Middle East.
Wow. Nice to see someone saying it. Definitely glad to see the Washington Post reporting it. Despite all the rhetoric coming out of Washington, I don’t remember any news accounts of Iraqis being on the 9/11 flights – just a bunch of Saudis and a few of their friends, financed by a Saudi who’s family is still big business in Saudi Arabia. The thing I remember most about Saudis from the few times I worked with them in Washington was the attitude that no problem was beyond being solved with money. The arrogance of certain individuals was amazing.
