If a tree falls in
If a tree falls in the forest and no one hears it, who cares?
If a politician gives a speech and no one listens, did he gain anything?
If a website publishes news, but no one links in, is it relevant?
Others have written everything I ever could about NPR and their new link policy. Why it’s wrong. Why it’s foolish. Why it’s futile. The list goes on. I’m very much a free market kind of guy. I don’t ask for links to the blog and I don’t give links except to sites or pages I enjoy reading. I’m not going to ask for permission to link to NPR. The < a > tag linking to the NPR site on the links page has been replaced by an < s > tag.
So, back to the question above. If a website publishes, but no one links in, are they relevant? No.
